SCOTLAND BACKS DOWN ON 2030 TARGET

Scottish ministers have had to accept that the 75% cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 cannot be achieved.

Mairi McAllan confirmed on 18 April that this key target is impossible, so must be replaced by a definition of emissions every five years. But the 2045 target of net zero is still OK. One uplifting report from the Scottish borders is the news about the largest UK locally owned green generation system.
