PLANS FOR ELECTROLYSER SCALE UP MANUFACTURING
Guidehouse Insight has just reported on the rapid installation of electrolyser GigaFactories duriing 2023. A big increase in manufacturing is needed by 2030, up to a TeraWatt of new installation capacity in that year. Electrolyzer Tracker suggests global nameplate manufacturing capacity was 12.3 GWe at end 2022. This could rise to 20.4 GWe at end 2023 and to 28.5 GWe by December 2024 providing that new capacity is delivered on schedule. UK is seeking 10GW of green hydrogen production installed by 2030, only about 1% of global capacity predicted.
