Friday 17 November was a good day for hydrogen on TV. Jeremy Hunt the Chancellor of the Exchequer appeared, visiting the ITM gigafactory in Sheffield to announce the need for governmernt investment of £4.5bn in electrolysers, hydrogen technologies, electric vehicles etc but in 2025 for 5 years. ITM is a key UK company that has been readjusting in 2023 to make bigger units, at least 3MW each, to produce more green hydrogen for the 10GW target in 2023. Plus another factory in Sheffield! But, since UK is only making about 1000 tons per year at present, getting to a million tons/a looks difficult.
