The news today from DESNZ was quite distressing, because HAR1 (Hydrogen Allocation Round 1) was first announced in July 2022. 11 winners went though, yet only this week has money emerged. Awful. Since the total hydrogen power in HAR1 is only 125MW capacity, and UK is looking for 10GW by 2030, things do not look good for hitting the target. DESNZ needs to be far less bureaucratic and much more vigorous if UK is to get anywhere in Green Hydrogen. Supposedly, the £1bn from Boris was there in 2022 but nothing was done to utilise it. Or was it not 'Unleashed' properly. Or perhaps Boris Bull****.
