The Government plan to build more hydrogen production facilities in UK is moving forward with the current call for support that closes on 12 October. Electrolyser plants bigger that 5MW are demanded. Such a plant could make 2te per day of green hydrogen if a wind or solar farm was available. That does not seem like much but could be enough to power 100 double-decker buses. or 2000 cars. If UK is serious, we need at least 1000 of these plants by 2030. Progress in UK is dismal at present and lags way behind Germany, Scandinavia, USA, Japan, South Korea and China. Action is needed immediately.
