Hopefully you are writing your bid for BEIS hydrogen electrolysers by 12 October. But have you considered how much you have to write?? Incredibly, BEIS want 17 files uploaded (or more if you wish) each being 15MB or less.
If you did the maximum, you could submit around 150,000 pages of typed text. This might sound reasonable to BEIS, but who is going to read this pile of bull? If you submitted the maximum, it would take a reviewer working full time 3 years to finish it. Can I sign up as a BEIS reviewer; it looks like a job for life.
I thought that Brussels bids at more than 100 pages each was the bureaucratic limit, which amused us in UK immensely before Brexit. But BEIS bureaucracy beats Brussels by Brexit on this one by a factor 1500. My suggestion is that BEIS bids are limited to 10 pages, like InnovateUK do, plus a couple of tables.
